2025 Auckland Regional Dragon Boat Championships
This is the culmination of our summer training where we race against other Breast Cancer Survivor teams from around the North Island in preparation for the ultimate National regatta in April.

This is the ultimate regatta where all the New Zealand Breast Cancer Survivor teams race over 200m, 500m and 2km distances. There is small boat as well as standard boat racing. This is a great weekend of competitive racing, camaraderie, fun and laughter. The racing culminates with the flower ceremony where the Breast Cancer Survivor teams join together on the water for a poignant tribute to those who have been through, who are currently going through, or have passed away following their cancer journey. On Sunday the Breast Cancer Survivor teams get together for a brunch for more fun and camaraderie to finish off the event.
The Kai Iwi training camp is a great opportunity to learn new paddling techniques. Open to all teams associated with Auckland Dragon Boat Association, you will paddle in mixed teams. It’s a chance to meet paddlers from other teams, learn new skills, and have loads of fun in a picturesque location. We will get out for magical early morning and night time paddles. Saturday night is always a lot of fun with everyone getting together and each team putting together a skit to perform. Busting With Life are the reigning champions from 2023’s camp with our Minions ‘Banana’ skit!
A great way to spend Auckland Anniversary Day - on the water! Come on down with family and friends to join in the excitement of dragon boat racing at Viaduct Marina. With all Auckland teams and a number of visiting teams it makes for nail-biting racing!

This year New Zealand is hosting the International Breast Cancer Paddler’s Commission’s Participatory Dragon Boat festival. This is the first time this event is happening in the Southern Hemisphere, and we are excited to be a part of this event.
